Anne And Jane run Mother and Toddler Arts and Crafts sessions throughout the week for 2 - 5 yr olds. Each week we have a theme , Rainbows, Birds, Seaside,Shapes, Caterpillars and Butterflies - to name a few. we sit in a circle and chat about the theme first, then divide into smaller groups and do 3 activities related to the theme ( at least 2 of which the children take home ).
Then we have a story and songs related to the theme and at the end , the children have a sticker on their reward chart ( when they have 10, they choose a book which they can read at bedtime with mummy or daddy). We have lots of fun with glue,paint and glitter and the mess stays with us ! we follow the national curriculum and hope that as the children come to our sessions with mummy, daddy or granny - they grow in confidence and therefore will find the transition into school easy.
Our' Tots' sessions on Wed 1.30 - 2.30 at Rushclife leisure centre and Fri 9.30 - 10.30 and 11 - 12am at The Scout Hut on Alford Rd , Edwalton.
