Summer Gathering 2012

Although overcast and cold, we were blessed with dry and not too windy weather and an estimated 2,000 people came to the Bridgford park to enjoy the atmosphere.

BBC radio Nottingham came for a bit to tell the wider area what was happening on the day.

The West Bridgford Infant school children and their teachers do a fantastic job. Lots of happy faces dancing around the maypole showing their parents and families what they have been working on for several weeks.

Meg of The Company Contrary, organised the circus skills area where people could try plate spinning, hoola loops, juggling etc. During the Summer her company will be doing regular sessions at the scout hut in Edwalton on Saturday mornings.

The Friary Play group had a brightly coloured parachute for the children to play with and instilled some great environmental messages to the children through play.

The food on the day was exquisite, craft stores high quality, on the information stalls knowledgeable staff, whether about strawbale building, renewable energy, cycling, living roofs, eco architecture or growing your own food. The stall holders were really nice making it a lovely day out for the whole family.
