Iona School -

"Iona School offers Steiner Waldorf education to children from 3-11 years.  We are an independent school based in Sneinton, 5 minutes from the city centre and 10 minutes from West Bridgford.  Families join the school from right across Nottingham and a number of them are from West Bridgford.  We also offer early years care at Iona Day Nursery for children from 6 weeks to 3.5 years.  This Nursery is unique in that it is run based on Steiner principles which means that the childs senses are protected and nurtured.  The children join a home from home environment, play with natural wooden toys and materials, no electronic media allows for self-directed play in a safe and loving environment, fresh and wholesome vegetarian meals are prepared for the children daily, outdoor play is encouraged in the school's own meadow and playground.

We believe that education should be a continuing process, and our task is to stimulate and develop the faculties and skills which enable our pupils to learn for life, from life, throughout life.

The school is made up of the Kindergarten for children aged 3-6years and the Main School for children aged 6-11 years.  We follow the Steiner Curriculum, not the National Curriculum and we do not do SATs.  We offer the children a balanced and holistic education.
